Sarah Catherine (Fleming)(Holt) was born in White Co., TN. Some research states she was a daughter of Thomas Fleming and Elizabeth (Parker) of AR. Other research states her birth name is unknown, that she was taken in and raised by them, and she took the name Fleming.
On 5/4/1848 in Hempstead Co., AR, Sarah 1st married Thomas D. Holt. Presumably he died before 1850 and they had no children. Location of his grave is undiscovered at this time.
In Sept. of 1850 'Sarah Holt' is listed in Van Buren, TN along with siblings and widower father, a blacksmith. In Oct. of 1850 'Sarah Holt' is listed in Ozan, Hempstead, AR along with her widower father, a blacksmith, and the same siblings.
In 1856 in White Co., TN, Sarah 2nd married master carpenter Theodore Bauerfeind. They had children born in Spencer, Van Buren Co., TN and in Lampasas, Lampasas Co., TX after they moved there in 1871. Refer to Theodore's bio for more details.

In the 1850 census, also residing with Sarah and her father are farmer Joseph Parker (FAG#57297358), and William Parker, a school teacher, both born in TN, whom I found to be sons of Arthur Parker and Eleanor (Ballard); William's middle name was Ballard. This makes them brothers of Elizabeth and uncles to Sarah. Also residing with them were other children of Thomas and Elizabeth (Parker) Fleming:

Henry C. Fleming, b.1842, TN. In 1860 he is listed at age 18, he is listed in Spencer, Van Buren, TN residing with John Gillentine and family; John was a son of Nicholas Gillentine of White Co., TN. In 1870 Henry is married with children in Cottonwood, CA, a schoolteacher. By 1910-30 he is widowed, resided with his grown children in CA.
Elizabeth C. Fleming, b.1844, AR. In 1860 she resided with Sarah and Theodore Bauerfeind in Van Buren Co., TN.
Mary S. Fleming, b.1847, AR
Thomas P. Fleming, b.1850, AR
Also in 1850 in Van Buren, TN they all resided next door to Nicholas Gillentine and family, and clerk of court Arthur Parker, another brother of Elizabeth.
