Alta J. Alston, 63, of Longview, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at a Longview hospital. Graveside services will be at 12 noon, Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Maple Springs Cemetery in Newsome, Texas, with Brother Joe McGraw officiating.

Alta Jeanette was born in Mississippi and had lived in Longview since 1948. She was a Baptist and had worked as a bookkeeper for the R. C. Wood Company for over 30 years.

She is survived by husband, Jackie Joe Alston, Sr., of Longview; daughter, Pamela Jo Gann and husband, Darryl, of Longview; son, Joey Alston and wife, Amanda, of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Christopher Goodman, Kandice Goodman, Jonathan Goodman, Christopher Gann, Casey Gann, Clay Gann, Chelsea Gann, Cameron Gann, and Bailey Alston; mother, Fannie Fleming, of Oregon; half-brother, Floyd Holt, of Oregon; other relatives and many friends.
