Olivia "Lee" Ennis, 89, of Kent, died Friday, September 22, 2017, at Ohio Living Rockynol in Akron.

She was born August 29, 1928 in Youngstown to the late Emilian and Rafira (Popa) Cismas. Lee earned her BA in French from Flora Stone Mather College, now part of Case Western Reserve University. It was there that she met her future husband, Jim, a chemical engineering student at Case. They married in 1953. She taught third grade in Aurora before becoming a devoted mother.

An active member of Christ Episcopal Church, Lee taught Sunday School, belonged to St. Hilda's Guild, and was president of ECW/Episcopal Church Women. She also served as president of the Junior Woman's Club, as secretary and program director of the Travelers' Club, and was a member of Coterie I. She was proud to have volunteered 28 years at Robinson Memorial Hospital, where she also served as secretary of the RMH Auxiliary.

Lee loved to play bridge, was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed musical theater. An avid reader and space program buff, she enjoyed politics, crossword puzzles, and Scrabble... and was totally addicted to CNN.

She leaves her daughter, MaryLou (Daniel) Shoemaker of Middlefield, CT; grandson, Andrew Shoemaker of Yucaipa, CA; granddaughter, Emily (Vincent) Donatelli of Cranberry, PA; cousin, Carol Safran of Boardman; special niece, Hildy (John) Krish of Apollo, PA; and nephew, Jess Ennis of Hudson. Jim predeceased her in 1985.

Visitation will be from 2-3 pm on Thursday, September 28th at Christ Episcopal Church followed by the funeral service at 3 pm with the Rev. Julie Blake Fisher officiating. Private Burial will be at Standing Rock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church (118 S. Mantua Street, Kent, OH 44240) or Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice (1815 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313). Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements.
