FORK - Mr. Hartsell Osborn Rogers, Jr., 69, of Fork, SC, passed away on July 19, 2017 at his home after a heroic battle with cancer.
Hartsell was born July 3, 1948 and was a lifelong member of Fork Baptist Church, where he served as Superintendent, Sunday school teacher, Trustee, Deacon and sang in the choir.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hartsell O. Rogers, Sr.; his mother, Margaret Moore Rogers; and brother, Wilson Earl Rogers.
Surviving Hartsell are his wife of the home, Lenetta Johnson Rogers; a daughter, Nikki R. Bailey (John}; sister, Mary Anne R. Hayes (John Charles); a brother, John Seaborn Rogers (Mellie); and 3 grandchildren.
Before retirement, Hartsell served as Dillon County Administrator and as Director of Florence Regional Airport. He was also an active member of the Civil Air Patrol, the Hillbilly Clan 82 Outlaws #3 and the Fork Masonic Lodge #258.
The funeral to celebrate Hartsell's life will be on Friday, July 21 at 5:00 p.m. at Fork Baptist Church. Burial, with Masonic Rites, will follow in the Church Cemetery.
