Max left us in the early morning hours of March 2nd, 2016 to be with the love of his life, Lucy. He was born in Buchanan, Sask. on May 22, 1929. Moved to Rossland with his family in 1937 and then to Grand Forks in 1946.
Max graduated from National Schools Academy in Los Angeles, California in 1953 with a Diploma in Radio, TV and Allied Electronics. Many will remember him for being instrumental in bringing television to Grand Forks and outlying areas. He built the Repeater Station in Danville and serviced it for many years until cable vision became available. Max also travelled to many areas in B.C. including Haida Gwaii to help install satellite and other television systems.
In his last years, Max enjoyed visiting with friends in town and tinkering with electronics. For the past two years, he lived at Silver Kettle which he enjoyed. We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Silver Kettle and Boundary Hospital for all the care they provided to Max over the years.
Max was predeceased by his parents, his wife Lucy, his sister Maria and two step-sons, Clyde and Bobby. He leaves behind his step-children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many other friends and relatives.
Per their wishes, Lucy and Max, together again, will be buried at the USCC cemetery in April. May they rest in peace. Max’s cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Baker Family of Grand Forks Funeral Home, [email protected]
