Chapel B. 'Slim' Pittman of Denison, died at Gurdon, Ark. when the truck he was driving ran into the rear of a second truck that had stalled in the roadway of Interstate 30 and it's lights off in foggy weather. A driver for Allied Egry since 1967 and made runs to St. Louis, Kansas City and Little Rock, his destination at the time of the accident.

Funeral for Chapel B. 'Slim' Pittman 6l, of Denison, who died following a truck accident, was held at Bratcher Chapel with burial at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.

Pittman was born in Grandfalls, Texas, March 14, 1920, the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Pittman. He married Arlie Walton Sept. 18, 1979 in Fanin County. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, a member of of the Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, sons; Douglas Eugene, Ellis Chapel, Ricky and Gary Pittman, step-son Donnie Walton, Daughters; Linda Faye Pittman, Stella Grant, and Anna Rice. Brothers; MD Pittman and Willard Carroll Pittman. Sisters; Irene Sinks, Beatrice Sanders and Maude Hutchinson and eight grandchildren.
