Clifford R. Canon Dies in Home
TYRINGHAM -- Clifford R. Canon, 74, of Main St., former town official, died in his home early Sunday morning. A native of Tyringham, he was the son of the late Nathan and Florence (Northrup) Canon and spent his entire life here, having operated a dairy farm for many years. He was a member of the Union Church, Lee Rotary Club, the Berkshire Farm Bureau, and for 18 years had been a representative of the Eastern States Farmers Exchange. He had held various town offices during his career.

He leaves a wife, the former Dorothy Butler; one daughter, Miss Carolyn Canon of Tyringham; two sons, W. Garfield Canon of Lee and J. Northrup Canon of Tyringham; and five grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 Tuesday afternoon at the late home and 2.30 in Union Church with Rev. Franklin L. Couch officiating. Burial will be in Tyringham Cemetery. Friends may call at the home at their convenience. The Kelly funeral home of Lee is in charge of arrangements.
