John T. Sanders was my uncle. I have no pictures of him and know very little about him, except that my father said he liked to play a fiddle and my older sister remembers him as a large man with an outgoing personality. His wife, the formerly Lula Skipper, died in 1901, after she and John had been married eleven years. They were the parents of three children: Carl, Levi (named after Levi Lindsey Sanders), and Modest (Levi's twin). I remember Levi (or uncle Lee as we called him) coming to visit my father and mother once when I was a small child. This must have been about 1951 and Lee showed us the automatic transmission in his car-quite a novelty at the time. --Gary Sanders
