I have researched this famiy for years. If you are related I would love to hear from you. Many thanks to Ann Brannon for locating the obituary for James Davis.

James Davis was the son of Jane M. Woods and Jasper Newton Davis. Contrary to what may be found on someone's ancestry tree, death for Jasper Newton Davis came before the family moved to Harrison County. I was told by a daughter that James aka "Jim", would have been buried in Harleton but the snow was too bad at that time. James died of pneumonia. James had sisters Anna (Davis)Katenkamp, Della A.(Davis) married W. G. Olive, and Mary Jane "Mollie" (Davis) Laseter. Anna and Mary Jane's memorial can be found on www.findagrave.com site. Their parents Jane (Wood) and Jasper N. Davis can also be located on www.findagrave.com site.

Davis family plot: James and Kate (Starr) two sons also buried here, Carl Fred Davis and Cleveland Earl "Buster" Davis. Carl died during the 1960's.

Inscription on grave of son Cleveland Earl "Buster" Davis on right reads: Texas PFC 746 Tank Bn World War II; Died in the service of his country.
