Cretora was the only daughter of Claude and Belle Best. She served as financial secretary for the Yong Ladies' Sodailty before her untimely demise at age 15 in a Kansas City Hospital where she was being treated for a brain tumor. Her obituary reflects that she was known for her cherry way and friendly smile and during her illness, that self-same smile stayed with her. Her memory was treasured by family.
