My father's parents were immigrants from Silesia, a Czech-Polish border region. I grew up knowing very little about them. Thanks to records and a few family stories, I have pieced together a timeline for them. My mother's family was centered in an Illinois village where some left and some stayed. Those who left were lost to my mother's generation. Now, through records, I can find where they went.
