I am the 2nd daughter of Squint Brown, Ivy Taylor was my aunt, My dad was once married to Mable Brown until her death. He was 62 before he had his first child. He had two daughters. He died when I was 10. I never new much about his family history, I met 2 of his brothers John, Lacy Brown. At that young age I never thought of asking alot of questions. I know he was raised on Leatherwood. He raised my sister and I until his death, he was an amazing dad. We lived in Swiss ( Nicholas County) until he died, then we where sent to live with different relatives on my moms side, eventually we lived with my mom Mary Corbitt Pritt. I want to know so much about my dad, my mom does not even remember what mines he worked in. So she cant help. I know that he and my Aunt Ivy was well known in Clay County, but most of them have died too. I would like to find his parents grave site. My dad and sister are buried at Sunset Cemetery on Leatherwood.
