Why do I enjoy genealogical research? Because I don't want anyone to be forgotten!

I have been interested in family history since an early age. With the assistance, feedback, and training from library historians and others, I've gained experience which has enabled me to discover family history deeper than anticipated.

I'm a cancer survivor. After my diagnosis of breast cancer in 2012, I realized how much I need to do in my life before I go. I kept telling myself "I'm not ready to go, I have a story to tell". So here I am, I'm doing something I get satisfaction from, and that is organizing family history for myself and others.

Currently, I have been focusing on my maternal family and interviewing my mother. My mother has some older family photos, some of which I have already put their Find a Grave page. She has some grand stories to tell! My favorite story my mother tells me is about her walking to her paternal grandma Aggie's house to drink morning coffee. I have some fond memories of my great grandma too (Clorine Doke Negley).

Great Grandma CLORINE's identical twin can be found here: FLORINE DOKE
