I have a strong interest in history and genealogy. I have been working on my family tree for a few years now. Initially, I didn't think I would get very far because my Mother's maiden name was Smith and my Father's surname was Johnson. But, once I got started, and with the help of the internet, I found it wasn't that difficult. Of course, I have hit brick walls, but it is very satisfying when I break through one.
I have had my DNA tested through 23andme as well as with ancestry.com. That has helped me to break through some brick walls.
I have found out that I am descended from at least two American Revolutionary Patriots and probably more. I am a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution Family names are : Adams, Arnold, Baze, Baird, Beard, Blevins, Brewer, Coffman, Crane, Davis, Dennis, Dunlap, Eakin, Faver, Favor, Favors, Ellis, Emory, Emery, Frisby, Frisbee,Fleming, Gordon, Griffin, Griswold, Harris, Holland, Johnson, Jennings, Jump, King, Kirkland, Knight, Laugherty, Logan, McGill, Meek, Parker, Paschall, Perry, Perryman, Perriman, Sears, Schultz, Simpson, Smith, Sterrett, Stone, Waters, Walton, Welch, Wilkerson, Wright
