Boozhoo! Makadebinesikwe nindizhinikaas, Nimkii ndoodem. My English name is Tessa Reed and I am an Anishinaabe woman through the bloodlines of the Clifford and Lena Lambert family. My mother Rebecca Reed (Makwa doodem) is the seventh of their eight children. My mother married my adoptive father, William Reed (a zhaagnash) when I was a baby. I have one brother, Greg, who is five years younger than myself.

My maternal grandmother, Lena Sangraw is Odawa. She is the granddaughter of Soloman Sangraw, and Celina Fouché/LaCroix; John Williams Ossawinamakee* (Ozaawizinimikii) and Agatha Ettawageshik. She is also the great-great-granddaughter of Miskomemengwaanh. They came from Waganakising (The Land of the Crooked Tree), specifically, Ahnamawategoing (Cross Village) near Biidaasige (The place where the sunlight shines through - Petoskey, Michigan).

My maternal grandfather, Clifford Lambert (Makwa doodem) is Chippewa. He was originally considered a member of the Bay Mills Indian Community but in the '70s he enrolled his family in the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa because it provided representation and service to members living in other eastern Upper Peninsula communities outside of Bawating (The gathering place - Sault Ste. Marie). He is the great-grandson of James (Jaco) Lambert and Bashtchigigigikwi; Petrus Pawzhetawnawquot and Catherine Pinkwe; and the grandson of Joseph Kawitas/Cowetawsh and Mary Wabejak. They lived in Name (sturgeon - Nahma) which is about 25 miles west of Mangitigweyaaziibiing (The wide river place of red ochre - Manistique, Michigan).

I am happy to find this website that enables me to locate each of their graves and hopefully the graves of their siblings so that I may reconnect and come to understand my relationships.
