Attended grad school in journalism at Indiana University (Bloomington) 1977-78.
Worked at newspapers in Scottsboro, AL and Camden, SC (1977-1980).
Moved to the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC in 1980, working primarily for the federal government in Washington, DC.
Married Ronald C. Leighton in 1992.
Adopted our son, Hal, from Russia in 2004.
Accepted early retirement from federal government in 2011 and returned to Scottsboro, AL, to live in July 2012.
