Dorothy A. Kundert

Age 78 of Juda, died Friday, April 18, 2008 at Pleasant View Nursing Home following a long illness. Dorothy was born August 7, 1929 in Blanchardville, WI, the daughter of James and Martha Walreck. She graduated from Blanchardville High School in 1947 and married Charles Kundert Jr. on March 4, 1949 at the Monroe Methodist Church. Dorothy and Charles farmed in the Monroe and Juda areas until moving into Juda in 1978. Dorothy worked at the Monroe Evening Times, Value Village, Monroe Specialty, and Preferred Living. She was an active member of the Juda Zion United Methodist Church, Monroe Antique Wheelers, and had belonged to the Oakley Homemakers. Survivors include her husband, Charles Kundert Jr. of Juda; five children, Daniel (Jolene) Kundert of Juda, Gene (Holly) Kundert, Dianne (Steve) Holmes, Delroy Kundert and special friend, Martha Meritt, all of Monroe, Cheryl Bechtolt and fiancé Barney Losenegger, both of Juda; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Bird of Warren, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Dale Kundert in infancy, Daryl Kundert in 1979; a brother, James Walreck; and two sisters, Clara Walreck and Alice Hawkinson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at the Zion United Methodist Church in Juda. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME in Monroe and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in Dorothy's name.
