Mr. Church was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and a son of Bernice Opal Miller Church, Johnson City, and the late Lawrence Church. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Church, and a sister, Linda Church.
Mr. Church was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Tennessee National Guard, and had worked as a pipefitter. He was a Baptist.
CHURCH -- Funeral services for Joe Lee Church, 60, 1903 Omaha Lane, Johnson City, who died Monday, April 8, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel with the Rev. Keith Stockton and the Rev. Ken Hauser officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the U.S. National Cemetery, Mountain Home, where friends and family will meet for this service. Military Honors will be provided by the 176th Maintenance Battalion of the Tennessee Army National Guard.
