Mary A. Koleszar, 88, Enjoyed Spending Time with Her Family and at Her Seasonal Home in Florida


Mary A. Koleszar (nee DeLeese), age 88, of Sheffield Village, passed away Monday March 21st at EMH Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Cleveland on January 25, 1923 and had been a resident of Sheffield Village since 2002. Prior to moving, she had been a resident of Lorain since 1949.

Mary held recognition for giving birth to the first documented set of triplets to be born in Lorain.

She had formerly been employed as a sales associate at the Big Town Discount Store in Lorain and worked in a similar capacity for the Higbee Company.

Mrs. Koleszar was currently a parishioner of St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Sheffield Village and had been a former parishioner of the Church of St. Peter and St. John Roman Catholic Church both in Lorain. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus Council # 637.

In her free time Mary enjoyed spending time at her seasonal residence in Delray Beach, Florida as well as spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years Steven J. Koleszar, by her daughter Cheryl (Rick) Mariotto of Lorain, by her triplets Steven F. (Karen) Koleszar of Lagrange, Ohio, Randall J. (Debbi) Koleszar of North Eaton, Ohio, and Marilynn R. (Jim) Yagielo of North Ridgeville, along with seven grandchildren, four great grandsons, and sister Josephine Immormino of Richmond Heights, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, by her parents Frank and Grace (nee Terrano) DeLeese, by her brother Anthony, and by sisters Sara Melissa, Tessie Mazzone, and Virginia Mazzone.

Visitation will be Thursday from 3 p.m to 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will begin Friday at 10:15 a.m. in the funeral chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Teresa Avila Parish, 1878 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village with the Reverend Edward Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
