Family Information from Ann Brewer to Norma Carson, (her mother's name was Nellie Albrecht) June 26, 1986. Anton Gold, father of Elizabeth Jane (Albrecht) Gold. Born in Bavaria in 1822. He became a United States citizen in 1847, (according to records at the scott County Courthouse in Iowa). Elizabeth's mother was Isabella Pace, daughter of Matthew and Elizabeth Pace. Isabella was born in Indiana in 1828. They were married in Scott County Iowa March 26, 1849. Franklin Cornell Albrecht's father Joseph Albrecht was born in Badin Germany Dec. 4, 1820. His wife's name was Rosina Arcrilarious, born in Albany New York March 8, 1821. They were married in Albany New York March 4, 1844. They had a daughter named Sarah Elizabeth, born 1845 in New York. With in the next three years, they moved west to Rock Island County, Illnoise. They settled near Hampton, along the Mississippi river. Today that area is part of east Moline, Ill. A son Henry was born to them in 1848 in Ill. Another son Franklin Cornell Albrecht, born Aug. 18, 1852. Rosina died Aug 1855 (34 years old) of a fever. Joseph Anton Albrecht married Sara Mariah Hall in May 1858, they had six children. Joseph Albrecht died Jan 13, 1904 and Sarah died in 1909. Our Grandparents Franklin Albrecht and Elizabeth Jane Gold were married at Greenfield, Iowa, which is Adair County, Sept. 18, 1878. Franklin Albrecht's sister Sarah Elizabeth was married to George Bothel, and llived in Adair County at that time. I found it interesting that you listed your father John Richard Jump as being from Adair Iowa. Do you suppose your mother Nellie Mae (Albright) Jump was visiting her Aunt Elizabeth Jane Gold back in Iowa and met your dad John Richard Jump there? I remember my dad Henry Albrecht saying that when your mother Nellie (Albrecht) Jump was married to John Jump, your father's hat band would fit around her waist. Did you even hear that story? That is a small waist! Franklin and Elizabeth Albrecht's first child was Rosina Isabelle, born in Adair, Iowa in 1879. We show that Nellie (Albrecht) Jump was born 12-11-1881. Is that wrong? She was born in Adair, Iowa I believe. In 1882 their son Le Roy Franklin was born in Davenport, Iowa. In Elizabeth Albrecht's death notice, it states she came to Nebraska in 1885. Is that true? Daisey Darling Albrecht was born in Nebraska Sept. 1886; Henry Albrecht (Ann Brewer's father) was born Sept. 1888; Charles (Chase) Stewart Albrecht was born June 1890. I believe they had gone to Nebraska to homestead. I remember my father Henry Albrecht talking about living in a sod house. In 1894, Franklin Albrecht was killed while falling tree's at the Butters Ranch on the Driftwood river. Elizabeth Albrecht was left a widow with 7 children. Rosina would have been about 15 years old. She married four years later in March 1898 to Charlie Miner in Atwood, Kansas. They had 7 children. I believe 5 children are still living. Most of them in California. When Franklin Albrecht died, Nellie Albrecht (JumP) would have been about 14 years old. Did your mother ever talk about her childhood days? Do you know if your parents were married in Iowa, or Nebraska? Do you know the year when they were married? It must have been 1898 or 1899, because your sister Belva Mae Jump was born 1900 in Adair, Iowa. I seem to recall my father Henry Albrecht saying that Aunt Rosina Isabelle possibly your mother Nellie Albrecht went to school in town after their father's death, (Franklin Albrecht). Daisy would have been 8 years old, Le Roy would have been about 10 years old, Joseph 13, my father Henry Albrecht 6, Tom Stewart 4, and Francis Elizabeth a baby. I believe Daisy went to llive with Aunt Elizabeth (Albrecht) Bothel back in Adair, Iowa for a year or so. Elizabeth (Gold) Albrecht must have been a very strong women to be able to cope with raising and providing for her family. All the children pitched in. There must have been much love and caring, because my father Henry Albrecht's memories of his childhood were good for the most part. Joseph Albrecht must have married about 1905, because their daughter Mildred was born in 1906. Joseph married Minnie Creager who was born 1883 in Crete, Nebraska. They had 6 children, four are still living. I believe I have contact with Mildred, their oldest daughter. Her address is Mildred Wade Apt. 16 Bluff Plattsburk, Mo 64477. She will be 80 years old this Oct. 1998. We (Jim and Ann Brewer) last summer and hope to see her in a few weeks when visiting Frances Elizabeth in Idep, Mo. She is having some health problems right now. She is a lovely lady and I am sure she would injoy hearing from you. Joseph Albrecht's son, George is dead, but I have been in contact with his son Tom, who's address is Tom Albrecht 450 South Pueblo West Colorado 81007. He has givien me good information and also copies of photo's. I am sure he would enjoy hearing from you. Uncle Lee Roy Albrecht married Ethel Prters and they had 5 children. I believe 3 are still living. I am going to try to contact their daughter Frances who lives in Mc Cook, Nebraska, for information on marriages and birth dates etc. Aunt Daisy Darling Albrecht married Roy Walker and had 4 children. But I have no contact with any of them, Would you have addresse's or contact with any of them? I plan to write her a letter for Information. I believe she is still living in Larimie, Wyo. Henry Albrecht, my father married Lillie Ruth Stephens, April 19, 1926 at Oherlin, Kansas. They had 4 children, three are still living. Ann (Albrecht) Brewer 1929, Frances born 1931, and Loren W. born 1939, Elizabeth born in 1927, died in an automobil accident in 1944. Mom (Lillie Ruth Stephens) died Feb. 1965. Henry Ablrecht died Oct. 1966. Frances lives in Indep, Mo. Her address is Frances Stoeffler 5104 Downey Ave. Indep., Indiana 64055. My brother Lorin age 69 W. Albrecht lives in Eugene, Oregon. Frances married John Dack. I believe they had 7 children. Aunt Frances died this past Feb. 1986. Her daughter Doris Dack lives 906 West 1st Apt. At Mc Cook, Nebraska 69001. She has given us a lot of good information. I can't believe how I have rambled on so. I hope you can understand what I have been writting. Perhaps you already know most of this information, but I find it interesting not only from a family feeling, but also a very interesting history of the settlement of our country and the part our family had in that. I am trying to write a thumb-nail history of these event's, so any family storie's, dates etc., help out in fitting the pieces together. Since your mother Nellie (Albrecht) Jump was an older child, she probably remembered things daddy (Henry Albrcht) didn't. I am sorry I didn't get to know her. It would be neat to find out more of our history and manily connection's before Joseph Albecht came to Amercia. Where would we begin? Purhaps Aunt Rose's children would have some information to share. Will work on getting addresse's for some of them. Forgive the rambling. I hope you find it interesting. It was great hearing from you. Please lets keep in touch. Please share this information with Jim Jump and Burt Jump (Norma Mae Jump) Carson's brother's). If they are interested. I agree, we do have a good looking family. Love Ann Brewer. What an interesting story about the cyclone during the during the time you were in Mc Cook, Nebraska in 1928 (Norma Carson). We have copie's of a group photo taken of the brother's and sister's and family during that time. We had indentified all the children except one little girl on the front row and I believe it is you. Do you have a copy of the picture I am talking about? If you don't have, I will send you a copy. Most of the family information that we have is about Joseph Albrecht, the immigrant after he came to America. I didn't know of the family tree that Aunt Rosa had traud. I would be interested in learning more about that myself. Most of our information is from census record's and etc. It is such a shame that your mother's picture's are not available to you. It seems that they could at least make copies of the orginal's or all you to have some made. It sounds like you hav e a very interesting family. I remember hearing daddy (Henry Albrecht) talk about the Yakima Indian's, as he remembered them when he visited there. Did your grandmother Elizabeth Albrecht live with your family two years before she died? Do you recall being or talking with her very much? Daisy arling Albrecht, her daughter's address: Ruth. Mrs Charles Mahaffey 610 South 8th St. Laramie, Wyo. 82070. Frederick Arcularioues and Mahetable Heuster were the parents of Rosina Isabelle (Albrecht) who married Joseph Albrecht. Who were our Great-grand-parents. Frederick was born in Albany, New Yourk about 1782.a Joseph Albrecht was born in 1820, in Baden Germany. Rosina was born in 1821, in Albany -, New York in 1844. They moved to Illinois in the early 1850's. Rosina died of a fever in 1855, when our Grandfather Franklin Albrecht was about 3 years old. Joseph Albrecht married Sarah Hall, a niece of Rosina in 1858. They had 6 children. Rosina and Joseph Albrecht had 3 children, which Sara helped raise. Our Grandparents Franklin and Elzabeth Albrecht were married in Greenfield, Iowa in 1878. I believe the photo I am sending may be a son of Franklin and Elizabeth Albrecht. By Darlene Burns 7-28-10
