Age 79, passed away at 1:20 a.m. Sundayin Neenah after a nine month illness. He was born Oct. 24, 1889 in Chicago and was in the grocery business in Appleton and Chicago. He lived in the Appleton-Little Chute area until 5 years ago. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Dr. E. T. Monrow Counsel No. 2689, Haroford, Wisconsin; the American Legion, Jacob Coppus Post 258, Little Chute and a veteran of World War I. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Lexie) Van Asten, Sr., Little Chute; two sons, James, Santa Ana, Calif.; and Sgt 1st Class Rodney J. Schueneman, Ft. McClellan, Alabama; one brother, Harry, Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. William (Lexie) Leeland, Chicago; Mrs. Roy (Grace) Morall, Mesa, Arizona; nineteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from St. John's Catholic Church, Little Chute, with the Rev. Martin Vosbeck officiating and interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Wednesday. Knights of Columbus rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. and the parish rosary at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
