Arthur L. Ackerson, 66, of Arma, Kansas, passed away at 8:24 p.m., Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, Ks.
He was born August, 10, 1938 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Ira Earl and Agnes Anna Lynch Ackerson. He attended schools in California, graduating from Gardena High School with the class of 1956.
He married Linda D. Simone on May 30, 1970 in Carson, Calif. She preceded him in death Oct. 27, 2003.
He was a warehouse manager for a paper products company for 24 years, retiring in 1991.
Survivors include his daughters, Michell Gonzales of New Mexico, and Debbie Ackerson of Kansas, sons, Kerry Ackerson of New Mexico and Terry Ackerson of Kansas. A brother Michael Ackerson and 15 grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Tommy and Robert "Bobbie" Ackerson.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2004, at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Pittsburg with Rev. Mark Lehman officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 p.m. on Monday at Friskel Funeral Home, 230 E. McKay St. in Frontenac. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery by 1:45 p.m. on Monday.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac.
