Grace D. Tedford Burks was born May 22, 1912 in Hardin County, TN, the daughter of the late William Albert Tedford and Nancy Ann Kennedy Tedford. She married Ocie Burks on September 25, 1927. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1969.Mrs. Burks was a machine operator at the Brown Shoe Company where she worked for 28 years. She was a member of West Shiloh Baptist Church in Stantonville, Tennessee and the Eastern Star.She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, hosting dinners for family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also a wonderful cook.Mrs. Burks departed this life on March 11, 2014 in Selmer, TN at the age of 101 Years, 9 Months, 17 Days.In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Burks was preceded in death by two brothers, Grady and Earnest Tedford and four sisters, Reedie Tedford, Lydia Brown, Reatha Garrison and Lois Naylor.
