Clara P. (Tootie) Calliham, 92 years old, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 25, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David E. (Elmo) Calliham and daughters, Linda K. Walls and Barbara J. Walls. Tootie was born in Waukegan, IL on October 6, 1919. She, Elmo and Barbara moved to New Orleans shortly after Pearl Harbor where Tootie served as a shipyard machinist in WWII. There, Linda was born. Tootie and Elmo moved to Houston in 1971. She is survived by her son-in-law, George W. Walls. Grandchildren, George W. (Bill) Walls, Jr., Karen Barner, Pamela Jensen and husband Paul, Kelly Brown and husband Buddy, and Tina Ables and husband Bryan. Great-grandchildren: Barbara McCarrell, Britney Brown, Beverly Barner, Brandy Brown, Drake Bullock, Austin Ables, Abigail & Georgia Jensen. Great-great grandchild: McKenna McCarrell. Sister, Charlene Rutkowski, brother J. W. Parrish, and other nieces and nephews.
The visitation and service will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Frwy, Houston, TX 77079. The viewing is on August 29, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. and a service celebrating her life on August 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Dr. Roger Patterson & Rev. Ronnie Barner of West University Baptist Church will conduct the service.
Tootie attended West University Baptist Church for more than 40 years and was a lovingly shepherd of the Senior Adult Department.
