Samuel Edward Langford, 64, of Concord, died Friday, September 3, 2004 at his residence. He was the husband of Billie Callahan Langford. Born December 6, 1939, in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Paul Edward Langford and Ruby Price Langford Goff; and a stepson of the late Daniel Goff. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Samuel Paul Langford of Concord and William Edward Langford of Forest; three daughters, Arlene Shipley of Gladys, Audrey Proehl of Madison Heights, and Cynthia Wade of Lynchburg; four sisters, Vivian Huffman, Darnell Johns, Carolyn Wooten, all of Rustburg, and Elgie Harvey of Concord; and thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Langford. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 6, 2004, at Finch & Finch Chapel by the Rev. Shelton Miles, III. Interment will follow at Swan Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
