Janie was missing for several days when 2 boys discovered her body in Little Catoctin Creek near Bells Mills. It was ruled an accidental drowning but was likely a homicide.
She was aged about 42 years and survived by her 86 year old mother and these siblings: Gertie Frye, Arthur Snoots, Lettie Wetzel, Minnie Caniford, John,Charles and Alonza Snoots. Many nieces and nephews also survived.
She was predeceased by her father and brothers Jonas, Shirley, Harry and Fred.
