Sarah Frances Gates
Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 13, at the Stoller chapel for Mrs. Sarah Frances Gates who died June 11 at the home of her son, Lewis W. Gates, in the Fern Prairie district. Death was due to bronchial pneumonia. Rev. Bennett of Vancouver officiated, music was furnished by Miss Maysie Duffin and interment was at the Fern Prairie cemetery.
Mrs. Gates was born in Waverly, Ill., August 30, 1848. She was a member of the Baptist church and had lived for the past 13 years at her son's home in Fern Prairie.
She is survived by her two sons, Lewis W. Gates and W. H. Gates, Merino, Ida.
