Ella Emma Nail Hogue was born in 1873 in Jackson, Ohio to John Henry Nail and Mary Ann Horton Nail. She married James Franklin (Frank) Hogue on November 11, 1891 in Dent Co., MO. To this union the following children were born. Charles, Bessie Hogue Edgar, John, Mary Hogue Walker, Roy, Everett and Oscar. Emma died in St. Louis, MO at the home of one of her sons in 1943. My father always told us his mother, Emma, traveled from Ohio to Missouri in a covered wagon pulled by oxen. She is my grandmother but I never knew her.
