Walter Lee Gibbons, was born Nov. 8, 1952, and passed away April 4, 2005. He was a graduate of California State College, Dominguez Hills. Walt was an unpretentious, happy and sincere person who will be missed by many. He loved sports, coaching and teaching. His hobby was helping others. He was called "Uncle Walt" by his seven nieces and nephews. He worked for the Las Vegas Review-Journal for many years as a collections representative. Also, he worked as a substitute teacher for the Clark County School District. He is survived by his wife, Michele; mother, Elva Mae Gibbons of Las Vegas; father, William S. Gibbons of Mesa, Ariz.; sister, Wanda H. Midkiff of Las Vegas; brother, Michael Gesler of Las Vegas; and seven great nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, April 8, at Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson
