A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Birch Coulee Cemetery, rural Franklin.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, from 4 until 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church for one hour prior to services.

Marilyn Ann Wellnitz, the daughter of Hugo and Dorthy (Herdina) Willhite, was born October 4, 1947 in Willmar. Marilyn spent her younger years in Olivia where she attended St. Aloysius Catholic School through the eighth grade. She attended high school in Sacred Heart and spent her senior year at Franklin Public School where she graduated on May 27, 1966.
On April 29, 1967, Marilyn married Darwin “Dan” Wellnitz at Franklin. The couple resided in Franklin for a year, then moved to New Ulm where they lived for two years, then moved to Sanborn where they lived for three years. The family then moved to Redwood Falls where they lived for 35 years; Marilyn and Dan moved to Morton in December 2007. Marilyn worked as a cook for the Valley Supper Club in North Redwood and the Jolly Mill in Redwood Falls. In 1993 she began working at Jackpot Junction where she continued working until her retirement in 2002.
