Frank was born to John and Ida Belle Bowman. After graduation from the Aline High School, he attended and graduated from Northwestern State College, Alva.
Bowman taught school and coached boys and girls basketball and football at several schools in Oklahoma and Kansas. He and Florence Amy Ging were married at Carmen. She died March 25, 1954.
On March 16, 1974, he and Mrs. Leona G. Riffel were married in Davis Park Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Leona, of the home at 2700 N. Van Buren; one son, Frank L. Bowman Jr., Scottsdale, Arizona; three daughters, Mrs. Pete (Virginia) Horttor, Dell City, Mrs. T. J. (Modine) Mosher, Pond Creek, and Mrs. George (Pauline) Gilbert, Fort Worth, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 11 great – grandchildren; four brothers, Robert, Ulysses, Kansas, Glenn, Grove, John, Enid, and Herbert, Bakersfield, California; and one sister, Mrs. Josie Ashcraft, Oklahoma City.
