Note: There has been some confusion as to which Harvey Duncan is buried in Evergreen Cemetery. Actually both Harvey B. Duncan's (this one and the Harvey who died in 1861) are both buried in Evergreen Cemetery. Harvey Duncan who died in 1861 was originally buried somewhere else and his body and his marker were both moved to Evergreen Cemetery. The Harvey Duncan that this memorial pertains to was always buried in Evergreen Cemetery as was his wife, Frances.
Also, there are several Harvey B. Duncan's in this extended family who were born around the same time (between 1859 and 1861) who often get confused. They are all cousins. Three sons of Harvey Boyd Duncan (who died in 1861) all had sons named "Harvey Boyd Duncan." The three sons were Thomas Paveril Duncan, Green Perry Duncan and John Dekalb Duncan. This memorial is for Green Perry Duncan's son. John Dekalb Duncan's son died in Washington State (and had similar birth and death dates as well.)
The 1925 Iowa Census confirms that this Harvey Boyd Duncan was the son of Green P. Duncan and Julia (Gatliff) Duncan.
Census records also indicate that Harvey's birth year was 1859 as he was age one in 1860 and age 21 in 1880.
Burial in Block 10 (S side on N road), Row 6, plot 2 (N to S) according to Wayne County, Iowa Cemeteries 1846-1978
