Arthur S. Bell Died March 7th
Arthur S. Bell, 82, of 620 4th St. Buffalo, Iowa, died Tuesday evening, March 7th at Mercy hospital, Davenport, where he had been a patient 4 weeks.
The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Bell of Columbus Junction, he was born near Aledo, Illinois, April 29, 1884, and moved when a young man with his parents to a farm near Columbus Junction.
June 21, 1906 he was united in marriage to Pearl F. Brown at Winnepeg, Canada. She died in 1965. Mr. Bell farmed in Canada two years, moving then to Columbus Junction where the couple lived on a farm until 1930 when they moved to Buffalo where he worked for Dewey Portland Cement Co. retiring in 1951.
Surviving are four daughter, Mrs. Ed (Ruth) Bartling and Mrs. Marjorie Noyes, both of Davenport, Mrs. Clarence (Pauline) Gold and Mrs. R. Carl (Agnes) Duncan both of Buffalo and a son, Arthur R. serving in the Navy at Oak Park, Illinois. Also by 17 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday at Runges Chapel, Davenport with burial in Rose Hill cemetery, Buffalo.
