He was married to Lottie Hager Zeger. They had four daughter's: Hilda, Thelma, Jenevieve and Evelyn and a son Emmert, two other son's died as infants.
John was a retired farmer. He was a member of Guitner's U.B. Church.
John passed away at his home in Greencastle on Tuesday January 30, 1962. He was 74.
Services were conducted at Guitner's U.B. Church, Rev. Lester Misner officiated.
He is buried in Saint Thomas Cemetery with his wife.
