A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Coffey-Murray Funeral Chapel for Narvell (Morgan) Badgett, 94, Durant, who died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at Oakridge Nursing Center, Durant. Rev. Roland Barrick will officiate.
She was born May 6, 1912, in Kerr to Dallas Wesley and Minnie Mae (Sharp) Morgan. She married Arthur L. Morgan (sic -should be Badgett) Dec. 2, 1944, in Colbert. She moved with her family to Calera as a toddler. She graduated from Calera high school and attended Southeastern State Teachers College. She and her husband taught together in Talihina, before they transferred to Savanna and her husband worked as the Principal. She retired in 1974. She was a member of the Calera Methodist Church from childhood.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; sisters Augusta Richardson, Margaret Ausley, Edith Morgan; as well as her brother Dallas (D.W.) Wesley Morgan, Jr.
She is survived by her son Morgan Badgett and his wife Linda of Dallas, Texas; her sister Oneita Lacey, Dallas; sister Bobbie Miller and Don, Ardmore; granddaughter Jaynie Badgett Dallas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and former students.
Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Calera.
Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
