A.B.C. Davis was married to Nina Hopkins in Perry County, AL. They had eight children and lived in rural north Louisiana. He made his living by cutting timber and farming. The few photos of Anderson were taken when he was an old man. Two have him walking with a crutch after a bad chronic knee injury and with a cigarette in his mouth. He loved to play Dominoes and cards with his buddies. The photo shown here was taken in 1935 in Alabama at his wife's family reunion. When his health got so poor that he could no longer care for himself, his oldest son Perk took him to Alabama to reside with his family. After a few months, he died in the front room of Perk's house. His body was laid to rest next to his wife's in Dubach, LA. His death certificate has his DOB Feb 20, 1869 & DOD May 29, 1944, but Marker Feb 27, 1868 and May 26, 1944.
