Oscar Leroy Gile, Jr. passed away on September 8, 2006. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday September 12, 2006 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with a memorial gathering from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Oscar was born March 5, 1970 to Lois (Ashburn) Gile in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Saydel High School in 1989, and worked as a crane operator for many years.

Oscar loved his family very dearly. He was very proud of his children. He helped coach Little League and took part in their other activites. He was deeply saddened at the thought of losing his children, after a threat, and took his own life as a result.

Oscar is survived by his children, Ryan, Kelsey, Dylan and Gunner: his mother Lois Carmichael; sister, Karla (Don) Coe; all of DesMoines - his brother Jerry Ashburn of Ft. Madison; his step-mother, Audean of Kansas City, MO and many other family members and friends. Preceding Oscar in death was his father, Oscar Gile Sr.,; his step father Don Carmichael, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
