PHENIX CITY, AL - Edith Virginia Glasure, 82, of 1740 Knowles Rd., Phenix City, died May 5, at Canterbury Nursing Home.

Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday in Parkhill Cemetery.

Mrs. Glasure was born Oct. 9, 1921 in Columbus, daughter of the late Richard Lane Ellison and Mable Fussell Johnson. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist of Columbus. She served on the Board of Directors of the Stewart Community Home. She was a First Reader for a number of years. She worked at the Reading Room and was retired from the Archive Dept. at Columbus College. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Henderson Glasure and a sister, Mildred Byers.

Survivors include, a son, Richard Henderson Glasure of Columbus; a sister, Mabel Grimes of Phenix City; a brother, Richard L. Ellison Jr, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; nieces, Sherry Scroggins of Phenix City; Bette Blair of Addison, Texas; Pam Rainey of Denton, Texas; Marilyn Doran of Ft. Walton Beach; Sherry Rushing of Ft. Walton Beach; nephews, Chris Bankston of Phenix City; Rick Ellison of Ft. Walton Beach; several great-nieces and nephews.
