Sam Frank Aiello 70, of Springfield died Friday, Nov. 6,
1998, at St. John's Hospital.
He was born July 29, 1928, in Springfield, the son of Domenick and Mary Perisi Aiello. He married Florence Lucille Danner in 1953 in Springfield; she died in 1997. Mr. Aiello was owner and operator of City Delivery Service, established in 1957. He was a lifelong resident of Springfield, a U.S. Army veteran, 1947 graduate of Lanphier High School, and coached in the Senior Baseball League in Springfield.
Survivors: a daughter, Florence Marie Vaughn of Springfield; two grandsons; a brother, Jasper J. Aiello of Sherman; three sisters, Mary Palazzolo and Frances Romano, both of Springfield, and Rose Palazzolo of Rockford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, the Rev. Peter Mascari officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
