Clarence Franklin Spaulding died at his home in this city at the age of 70 years, last Friday. He suffered a paralytic stroke about six years ago and has been an invalid ever since. Mr. Spaulding was born in Trempealeau, Wis., April 22, 1874, the son of Augustus and Mary Spaulding. He grew to manhood on a farm near there and in 1901 began employment with the Omaha railroad. Continuing this work until 1811, he was forced to resign because of ill health and then accepted employment with the State Farm, just west of this city. He has been unable to work the last six years because of his health. Mr. and Mrs. Spaulding were married Aug. 24, 1913, at Winona. Mrs. Spaulding was formerly Miss Catherine Pickering. Surviving are his wife, a son, Warren, of Mankato; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd Adams and two brothers, Asa and Frank, all of Trempealeau, Wis. Funeral services were held at the Pfaff funeral home on Monday afternoon at two o'clock and interment was made in Woodville cemetery. Rev. G. E. Martin, pastor of the Methodist church officiated. Pall bearers were George Engel, John MacMartin, Al. Liggett and John Krueger.
