Noble Landon, Esq. came to Ohio via St. Albans, Vermont about 1810 and soon became co-founder of the town of New Albany. Noble was first Postmaster of Johnstown and also New Albany, Ohio. He served as Justice of the Peace and was innkeeper for the town. When his wife of many years and the mother of several children died, Noble married a widow with a young daughter, Lovice 'Louisa' Beaumont Hall, daughter of Isaiah and Fear Alden Beaumont, in 1829 and sired three more children. Despite his busy career in politics and as a developer, Noble Landon died a poor man in 1866.
On July 4th, 2003, the town of New Albany, Ohio held a reunion for the descendants of the founding fathers and a plaque was unveiled near the site of Landon's old inn detailing Landon's part in carving a civilization from the Ohio wilderness.
