William W. Reed, Sr.
The funeral of William W. Reed, Sr., pioneer coal operator of the Broad Top field, who died at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at his home in Dudley, will be held Thursday afternoon, with burial in the Methodist cemetery at Dudley at 1:30 o'clock. Death was attributed to diseases incident to advanced age. Mr. Reed was well known throughout Blair, Huntingdon and Bedford counties, and had a large circle of friends in this city. He was born July 24, 1847, and is survived by the following children: Warren H. and William W. Jr., of Dudley; Mrs. A. E. Hannawalt, of Harrisburg, and Mrs. J. Freeman Melroy, of Stewartstown, Pa.
