Marie L. Cullip 93, of Elkhart passed away Oct. 16, 2011 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born in Elkhart on Jan. 22, 1918 to Clarence Schenk and Leona (Higley) Schenk who preceded her in death. On August 14, 1948 Marie married L. Dale Cullip in Elkhart, IN. who also preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2009. Marie was the secretary for Cullip Industries until Aug. of 2007. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and an elementary Sunday School superintendent for over 30 years. Marie loved to sing in the church choir and sang duets with her sister Geri. Her grandchildren were a very big part of her life; she loved to attend their events whether it be ball games, concerts, etc. Survivors include son John (Sherry) Cullip of Goshen; daughter Susan D. Hansen of Elkhart; brothers Marvin (Jennie) Schenk of Fl, James (Katie) Schenk of Elkhart, Raymond (Faye) Schenk of Goshen, Homer Schenk of Elkhart, sister Geri (James) Murray of Bristol, 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are a son Raymond Cullip; sister Goldie Sellers. Visitation will be on Oct. 30, 2011 at the Hartzler Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home from 2 to 5 pm and on Monday at 10 am. Funeral Services will be 11 am on Monday Oct. 31, 2011 at the Funeral Home with Pastor John Blodgett officiating the services. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be given to Elkhart Christian Academy or the ministry of the Rayn Hansen's in the Dominican Republic through SCORE International.
