Logan, Utah: Raymond "Bob" Layne, 93, left this world for a better place on February 11, 2008 at the Logan Nursing and Rehab. Center of causes incident to age.

Dad was born on March 6, 1915 to Clarence Ellis and Zelnora Rebecca Glover Layne in Lewiston, Utah. He was raised on the family farm learning to love horses, dogs and work.

Bob married Helen Buxton on August 8, 1941 in Logan, Utah. They were sealed in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on September 18, 1961. They were blessed with 6 children: Joanne Layne, SLC, Utah; Bob Layne, deceased; Darlene (Ron) Krauter, Lewiston, UT; Dennis (Marion) Layne, Riverside, Utah; Farrell (Laura) Layne, Hyde Park, Utah; and Ellis (Kim) Layne, Lewiston, Utah.

Dad loved to ride horses and always had a good one for his kids and anyone else who came to visit. He farmed in Lewiston most of his life. His wife Helen died of Leukemia on January 29, 1967. He later married Leone Seamons on May 11, 1971 in the Logan LDS Temple. She and he were square dancing fools, but there love was cut short by her succumbing to cancer. He later married Lois Kidman and for 29 years they went on many wonderful trips and danced all over every chance they got. They especially loved there winters in St. George. Lois passed of cancer one and a half years ago.

Bob is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters; 18 grandchildren; 35 great- grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Bobbie; all three of his wives, his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Dad we love you and will miss the many hangers you make and card games we played. May you keep winning in heaven. Till we meet again.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be held prior to services from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. Burial will be in the Lewiston Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at Allen Mortuaries.
