John R. Allen, 75, of 30 Terrace Blvd., Lewistown, was pronounced dead upon arrival at Lewistown Hospital at 10:50 a.m. February 9, 1980.

Born June 25, 1904, in Huntingdon County, he was the son of McClelland J. and Rebecca (Varner) Allen. His first wife, Martha W. Rupert, preceded him in death. He was then united in marriage with Neva (Stevens) Runk, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Florence Sunderland, McVeytown; Mrs. Audrey Snow, Everett; and Mrs. Sandra Zimmerman, Lewistown; one stepson, Carl M. Runk, Lewistown, R.D. 4; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers: Elmer L. Allen, Canton, Ohio, and Marshall G. Allen, of Julian; and one sister, Mrs. Mae Alberts, also of Julian. Three sons preceded him in death.

Mr. Allen was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Juniata Terrace, Lewistown.

He had been employed in the engineering department of the American Viscose Division of FMC Corporation for 44 years, until his retirement in June, 1969.

He was a member of the Beacon Class of Sunday School, the Golden Age Club, the TWUA Local No. 6, the Pensioneers' Club, the Avisco 25 - Year Club, the BPOE No. 663, Lewistown, the Friends of Ohesson, and the Henderson Fire Company.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 13, at 10:30 a.m. at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Juniata Terrace, Lewistown, with the Rev. Logan J. Richter officiating. Interment will be in the William Linda Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown. The Elks will hold a memorial service at the funeral home at 8:30 the same evening. The body will lie in state at the church Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Heart Association, in care of LaDonna Pennypacker, P.O. Box 70, Lewistown, Pa., 17044.
