Parents were Jessie Garvin Shaw and Bessie Mae Martin. Married May 17, 1947 in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas, to Alma Louise Francis. They had two children. He was a WWII veteran and had served in the Army Air Corps. He was employed at Qaker Oats Company in Sherman for 29 years as a truck driver, and retired from ConAgra in Sherman after 16 years. He was a lifetime member of Sherman VFW. He was buried Nov. 23, 2005.
