Born March 17, 1903 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late William White and Elizabeth J. M. (Kildow) White. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Layton in March 1969.
Mrs. Layton was a member of he Bayard United Methodist Church and at the Bayard Older Americans.
Surviving are three daughters, Betty Jane Blizzard, Charleston, W.Va.; Louise Fultz and Marian Scripp, both of Bayard; one son, Stephen M. Layton, LaVale; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at the Steward Funeral Home, Oakland, on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. William McCalliser, the Rev. Ray Rodeheaver and the Rev. Wanda Ploss officiating. Interment will be in Bayard Cemetery.
