Mary Cleveland Butterfield, b. Feb. 17, 1794 in Francestown, Hillsborough County, NH. and d. Apr. 25, 1878 in Homer, Cortland, NY.

Andrew Burr joined the Baptist church over 50 years ago, has always been a firm supporter, and interested deeply in all reforms growing out of the application of Christianity to affairs of human life. He was a man of enterprise and contributed much by the energy with which he pursued his calling, and by erecting buildings, and in measures of public interest, to the growth and prosperity of Homer.

On Jan. 3, 1846, Mary Louisa Burr and Daniel Woods Leavens were married in Rushford, Allegany, NY.
They lived in Rushford for 11 years, then
Oramel, Allegany county, NY. for 2 years,
then Horseheads, Chemung county, NY. for 8 years.
They spent 5 months in Adrian, Lenawee county, MI. until Apr. 1867, when
they moved to Decatur, Van Buren county, MI. in Apr. of 1875. After that they went to Homer, Cortland, NY. in Aug. of 1877 and
then Bay City, Bay county, MI. in 1884.
Daniel was a bookkeeper and druggist.

Daniel and Mary Leavens' children were:
1. Charles Andrew Leavens, b. Dec. 2, 1847 in Rushford, Allegany, NY. and d. Aug. 4, 1913 in Los Angeles County, CA. He marr. his cousin, Mary Amelia Burr.
2. Walter Calvin Leavens, b. May 29, 1853, b. in Rushford, Allegany, NY. and d. in Mar. 1892 in Pasadena, L.A., CA. He was a druggist and merchant.
3. Edward Leavens, b. Dec. 21, 1856 in Oramel, NY. and d. Feb. 12, 1878 of heart disease. He was a promising young artist. He lived in Decatur, MI. and d. at the age of 21.
4. George Fox Leavens, b. Oct. 29, 1865 in Horseheads, NY. and d. Apr. 30, 1955 in San Diego county, CA. He was a clerk. He marr. Annie S. Harris.

Their annual visit here this time has been a very pleasant occurrence, especially to their friends here. There are firm ties of friendship and sympathy which bind these honored people and their Decatur friends in close bonds.
