On Oct the 5th of 1805 there was more excitement in the John Peter Corn house in Corn Nation. Hannah Elizabeth Parr Corn was giving birth to the last of their sons. Only two girls would ramain to be born. It was cool windy day and the leaves that were left on the trees were a variety of colors and it was a beautiful fall day. Another Corn was born into the world. Mathew Dewitt Corn wasn't famous but did make a difference in the the society of the southeast. Most of them were property owners and there were several of his offspring that were military men and some of them made that untimate sacrifiece with the donation of their lives to freedom. John Peter would would have been proud of of all those that did so. At the age of twenty-six Mathew D married Nellie Elinor "Alinor" Noel of Neal. I have not been able to find her family. I do have one prospect but it is not proven yet. They settled in the Green River section of Henderson Co and live there until his death. He did for a while live with my grand father John Peter Corn for a while in Transylvannia in the middle 1880's. He had a lot of offspring in the Corn Families, as well as the Galloways, Kuykendalls, the Clilders, and the Stepps. After Mathew's dad died he sold his part of the Corn Farm and moved farther south in Henderson Co on Green River. I thank he might be buried in an unmarked grave in Pace Cemetery in Henderson County, North Carolina. For a list of the childern click the link to Nellie Ellenor Neal Corn (Spouse)
