Elizabeth C. Cherry, 78, of LaBelle, died October 23, 1992, at the Idaho Falls Care Center, from causes incident to age.
She was born November 30, 1913, at Pocatello to Mary Elizabeth Hudson and Orson Mads Christensen. She attended schools in Newdale, Rexburg and graduated from Ricks Academy. She married Leo J. Cherry on February 13, 1934, at Salt Lake City.
She worked as a hot lunch supervisor in the Rigby schools for many years. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served as Primary president and in many music capacities, including choir director, and on the stake Young Women's Board. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She and her husband served a mission in Tallahassee, Florida.
She is survived by her husband of LaBelle; four daughters, Nila Briggs of Idaho Falls, Kay Freeman of Atlanta, Mrs. Burdett (Joyce) Robison of LaBelle, and Mrs. Phil (Norma Jean) Hawkins of Boise; one son, Rex Cherry of LaBelle; one sister, Joan Christensen of Provo, Utah; three brothers, George Christensen of Rexburg, Larry Christensen of Orem, Utah, and David Christensen of Layton, Utah; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, three sisters, two brothers and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the LaBelle LDS Church. The family will meet with friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and on Monday for one hour before the services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
